Lincoln County Motorcycle-Car Wreck Sends One to Hospital

A traffic accident on Zetus Road in Lincoln County on July 19 sent one motorcycle rider to the hospital.
At 6:27 p.m., dispatch received reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Zetus Road and Fern Lane, according to Sheriff Steve Rushing.
A 1995 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling east while a 2024 Nissan Rogue was heading west on Zetus Road. The Nissan’s driver was attempting to turn left onto Fern Lane and failed to see the motorcycle, authorities said.
The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Nissan. The 17-year-old motorcycle rider sustained multiple injuries and was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. The Nissan driver reported no injuries.
Emergency response included local law enforcement and medical teams. The left lane on Zetus Road was closed during the incident response and investigation. No further details on other potential witnesses or the condition of the motorcycle rider were available at this time.
