One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 160 near Riverdale Road south of Nixa on Wednesday morning, Oct. 21.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a southbound vehicle collided with a deer, subsequently striking a northbound vehicle before crashing head-on into a box truck. The driver of the vehicle that hit the deer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the accident, and the highway was temporarily closed for investigation and clean-up. Authorities confirmed that other individuals involved in the crash did not sustain serious injuries.
