PETOSKEY — An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Resort Township on October 13.
According to the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 7:03 p.m. at Intertown and Eppler roads.
The accident involved a motorcycle and a Toyota 4Runner. Samuel Tyler Gross, 18, of Petoskey, was driving the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Candace Jo Wynn, 69, of Petoskey, was driving the Toyota 4Runner and was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital, with no reported injuries.
Authorities stated that speed appears to be a significant factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from Emmet County EMS, Resort Bear Creek Fire Department, Emmet County Road Commission, and Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Police.
