AURORA, Colo. — A motorcycle crash on East Iliff Avenue on May 30 resulted in one fatality and left another person injured.
Authorities said the accident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when a motorcycle traveling west collided with a Honda CR-V that made a northbound turn onto S. Idalia Street. The motorcyclist, a man, was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The passenger, a woman, is currently listed in stable condition.
According to police, initial reports indicated the motorcycle was stolen; however, they clarified that the vehicle’s VIN matched closely with that of a stolen motorcycle, causing the confusion. The driver of the Honda CR-V fled the scene; the vehicle was later located abandoned nearby.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities indicated that speed may have been a contributing factor to the incident. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
