Three Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Prince George’s County
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — A multi-vehicle crash late Tuesday night resulted in the deaths of three individuals, police confirmed.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road. Authorities reported that a vehicle making a left turn collided with a motorcycle and another vehicle.
The deceased include 22-year-old Elvin Martinez Hernandez of Hyattsville, riding the motorcycle, and two individuals from Adelphi: 61-year-old Reddick Speight and 62-year-old Terri Stringfellow, who were driving the turning vehicle.
Two passengers from the other vehicle involved were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
New Hampshire Avenue was closed in both directions between Piney Branch Road and North Hampton Drive, but reopened shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday, the WTOP Traffic Center reported.
An investigation is ongoing, with police indicating Speight’s vehicle struck the motorcycle while attempting the turn.
Authorities said further details will be released as the investigation continues.
