Pontiac Woman Charged Following Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident.

Charges have been filed against a Pontiac woman in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash in Oakland County on September 1.

Leeann Jean Darling, 36, faces charges of failing to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death, operating a motor vehicle while license suspended, and operating while license suspended causing serious injury, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. She was arraigned at the 50th District Court in Pontiac, with bond set at $750,000. A probable cause conference is scheduled for October 14.

The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Perry Street, deputies said. Motorcycle rider Jack Leverne Turnblom died later at the hospital from his injuries; his passenger was hospitalized but has since been released. Neither individual was wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Authorities reported that a 2010 GMC Terrain disregarded a red light on northbound Perry Street before the collision. The driver exited the vehicle and fled the scene but was later identified by investigators from the Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit. Darling surrendered to authorities on October 1 and is currently held at the Oakland County Jail.
