PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Six people are dead following two motorcycle-related crashes in Prince George’s County this week.
The most recent incident occurred on Tuesday night at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road in Adelphi, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including the motorcycle rider.
According to Prince George’s County Police, the crash involved a motorcycle and two other vehicles. Investigators are looking into the details and have not released the cause of the crash.
This tragedy follows another collision in Upper Marlboro that claimed three lives, including 22-year-old Adriana Maxwell, who was a passenger in an Uber. Authorities stated that the crash occurred when the Uber driver failed to yield to a motorcycle.
Maxwell’s father, Carl Watson, expressed his family’s grief, urging for changes to prevent future tragedies. “I’m trying to hold on; I have to hold on for her siblings,” he said.
In response to the recent fatalities, Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy announced a forthcoming “Road to Zero” action plan, aimed at reducing serious and fatal crashes through engineering improvements and driver education.
Both incidents remain under investigation. Authorities remind drivers to stay focused, obey traffic laws, and exercise caution on the roads.
