A 26-year-old U.S. Army soldier died following a motorcycle accident on the Glen Highway near the Parks Highway interchange on Saturday, Aug. 18.
According to Army officials, Sgt. Timothy Scott Woods II lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail, sustaining severe injuries.
Woods, a resident of Salem, Virginia, enlisted in the Army in January 2014. Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but he did not survive his injuries.
Authorities confirmed the accident is currently under investigation.
