Motorcycle Accident on Route 299 Claims Life of 22-Year-Old
LLOYD, NY – On June 1, 2026, at approximately 9:29 p.m., a motorcycle accident on Route 299 resulted in one fatality.
According to authorities, a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling east when it collided with a dump-style trailer in the same direction. The motorcycle, operated by 22-year-old Felix A. Amaro Soriano of Poughkeepsie, was moving at a high rate of speed at the time of the incident.
Amaro Soriano was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained severe injuries. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures at the scene before transporting him to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
State Police are asking witnesses of the collision to come forward and contact the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Highland at (845) 344-5300.
