Stolen motorcycle linked to fatal Fargo crash, authorities confirm.

FARGO, N.D. — A motorcycle involved in a fatal crash on August 9, 2025, was reported stolen weeks prior, according to its owner.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol confirmed a 31-year-old man, identified as Alex Frank, died in the collision after failing to stop at a red light. Emergency responders arrived at the scene on Broadway near 29th Avenue North.

Sophia Lundgren, the motorcycle’s owner, announced that she purchased the Yamaha sport bike shortly before it was taken. “I left it parked where I usually do, and the next morning, it was gone,” she said.

Lundgren filed a police report at the time of the theft but learned about Frank’s death through news coverage. “It was a huge shock,” she stated, expressing sympathy for Frank’s family despite her loss.

Frank’s family described him as outgoing and working towards recovery from a past substance abuse issue. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support his children.

A memorial has been erected at the accident site, featuring flowers, stuffed animals, and a wooden cross inscribed with messages of remembrance.

Lundgren reported her insurance claim was denied, leaving her without compensation for her stolen motorcycle. Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
