SUV Driver Charged Following Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Dinwiddie County, VSP Reports.

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Boydton Plank Road on Monday night, prompting charges against an SUV driver, according to Virginia State Police.

Troopers responded to the 6800 block of Boydton Plank Road (Route 1) at 7:57 p.m., where three vehicles were involved in the incident. A 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe attempted to make a left turn and collided with a 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling north.

The impact forced the motorcycle off the roadway, resulting in a collision with a 2019 Honda Accord exiting a parking lot. The motorcyclist, identified as Tyrone M. Cooper, 41, of North Dinwiddie, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet during the crash.

The driver of the Tahoe, whose name has not been released, faces charges of failure to yield right of way while turning left and operating a vehicle with a revoked or suspended license. Authorities stated early investigations show no signs of drugs or alcohol as factors in the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
