RONDA, N.C. (WHKY) — A motorcycle crash along U.S. 421 South on Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of a Thomasville man.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Clingman Road in Wilkes County.
Authorities reported that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling south when it veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail. The rider, identified as 58-year-old Todd Galloway, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead while being transported to a hospital by EMS.
Investigators confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident. There is no indication that speed or impairment contributed to the crash.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
