Three Airlifted After Motorcycle Collision on U.S. 50 Near Odin
Odin, IL—Three individuals were airlifted following a motorcycle accident on U.S. 50, approximately one mile east of Odin, at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, a westbound motorcycle, operated by 23-year-old Hunter Cripe of Effingham, was making a turn into a driveway when it was struck on the side by another motorcycle driven by 72-year-old Larry Harris of Odin. Cripe’s passenger, 20-year-old Chastity Cripe, was also involved in the incident.
All three individuals sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to St. Louis hospitals for treatment. Emergency responders from the Odin Fire Department and United Medical Response assisted at the scene.
There were no witnesses to the crash, and an investigation is ongoing. Lane closures were implemented to facilitate emergency operations.
