WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) — Three people died, and one was seriously injured in a crash on U.S. 1 early Saturday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers were called to the scene at 12:28 a.m. near Friendship Road on the northbound side of U.S. 1. Upon arrival, they found a single-vehicle crash involving multiple fatalities.
The preliminary investigation found that a 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan was speeding when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn, authorities said.
There were four occupants in the vehicle. The deceased include:
- Darius Josiah Stevens, 21, of Spring Lake, driver, pronounced dead at the scene.
- Ricky Rosas, 20, front passenger, pronounced dead at the scene.

The surviving passenger, Luis Feliciano, 22, from Laredo, Texas, was transported to WakeMed Raleigh Campus with serious injuries.
Speed is being considered a primary factor in the crash, authorities confirmed. No further details about road closures or investigation updates were available.
