Witnesses Describe Final Moments Before Fatal Motorcycle Crash, Reports WSOC TV.

HICKORY, N.C. — A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Highway 70 Friday night, resulting in one death and multiple vehicle collisions.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., a 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle veered off the road and struck two parked vehicles at the Cloninger Ford dealership. Authorities confirmed the motorcyclist, identified as 23-year-old Elijah Jenks of Granite Quarry, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle traveling at excessive speeds, estimated to be over 100 mph. No charges have been filed as of yet, and police are conducting an investigation into the incident.

The Hickory Police Department responded promptly, and the roadway was temporarily closed to facilitate rescue and investigative efforts. Emergency medical services were dispatched, but no additional injuries were reported.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward as they continue to gather evidence.
