Three people died Saturday in two separate car accidents in Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi.
Authorities confirmed that the first incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Ollie Armstrong, 59, of Pascagoula was struck on the passenger side while turning at the Golden Nugget Casino on U.S. 90. Armstrong and her 7-year-old grandson, Kevin North, both died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital.
Shortly after, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer responded to a fatal motorcycle accident on U.S. 49 in Gulfport. Javan Navarez, 36, also from Gulfport, reportedly swerved and struck the center median curb. Navarez died at the scene, while a female passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
