(WMC-TV) – A Mississippi state trooper was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday on Highway 51, while off-duty.
Trooper Eric Lentz, 38, was involved in the incident occurring around 3:12 p.m. Local authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved.
Emergency services responded to the scene; however, Lentz was pronounced dead at the site of the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
Visitation for Trooper Lentz will take place Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at C-O Pate Funeral Home in Senatobia. His funeral is scheduled for Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Northwest Community College Coliseum, also in Senatobia, with interment at Senatobia Memorial Cemetery on Highway 51.
Lentz is survived by his wife, a daughter, and a young son.
