A motorcycle crash on a freeway ramp in Detroit early Saturday sent a 20-year-old motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Michigan State Police.
The incident occurred around 1:25 a.m. on the ramp from eastbound Interstate 96 to northbound Interstate 75. Authorities reported the motorcyclist lost control while navigating a curve, traveling at approximately 100 miles per hour, and crashed into a concrete wall. Both the rider and the motorcycle fell over the wall down a grass embankment.
Emergency medical personnel provided aid at the scene before transporting the injured rider, a resident of Eastpointe, Michigan, to the hospital.
Northbound I-75 in the vicinity of the crash was closed for about two hours as officials conducted an investigation and cleared the scene.
