Two fatalities in separate Colorado Springs crashes as identities are released in three earlier incidents.

Two Riders Killed in Separate Crashes in Colorado Springs on Monday

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO— Two individuals died in distinct crashes involving motorcycles and a scooter on Monday, according to police.

The first incident occurred at approximately 9 a.m. in the 4100 block of Briargate Parkway. A motorcyclist was fatally struck when a vehicle turning left onto Lexington Drive collided with them. Authorities noted that speed may have contributed to the crash.

The second crash took place around 12:40 p.m. in the 400 block of North Circle Drive, where a scooter rider was killed. Details surrounding the circumstances of this incident remain unclear, though preliminary investigations ruled out speed and alcohol as contributing factors.

As a result of the first crash, Briargate Parkway experienced lane closures for several hours due to the ongoing investigation, while North Circle Drive was also closed in both directions for an extended period.

In related news, police identified three motorcyclists who died in prior crashes over recent weeks. Timothy Klock, 30, and passenger Ashley Moore, 30, were involved in a crash in May. Dawon Debolt, 23, died in a June 1 incident, and Alexander Liscio, 24, was killed on June 6.

Liscio’s death marks the 26th traffic fatality this year in Colorado Springs, compared to 16 by the same time last year.

Authorities encourage anyone with information on any of these incidents to contact the COLORADO SPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT at 719-444-7000 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867.
