Published 5:28 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2026

Two people died Monday night after a motorcycle was struck from behind on Highway 62’s Rogue Valley Expressway, authorities said.

Oregon State Police (OSP) responded to the crash near milepost 3 at 9:38 PM. The expressway runs west of Crater Lake Highway to near Gregory Road in White City, with a speed limit of 55 mph.

According to OSP, a westbound Dodge Ram pickup, driven by Kristin Michelle Cowan, 35, of Medford, collided with a westbound Kawasaki Eliminator motorcycle operated by 56-year-old John Daren Stribling of Central Point. Cowan was uninjured in the crash.

Stribling and his passenger, 44-year-old Bobbie Lynn Stribling-King, also of Central Point, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Cowan was arrested and booked into Jackson County Jail on charges including manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants, and reckless driving. She remains in custody on $500,000 bail as of Wednesday night.

The highway was closed for approximately seven hours during the investigation. OSP indicated that impairment is considered a primary cause of the incident, with the investigation ongoing.

OSP was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.
