ASHLAND, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two individuals died in a motorcycle and pickup truck collision at Winchester Avenue and 25th Street on Sunday evening.
Boyd County Coroner Mark Hammond reported that the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., with both the motorcycle’s operator and passenger, both adults, pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest excessive speed may have contributed to the crash. Both motorcycle occupants were wearing helmets at the time.
Kentucky State Police are leading the investigation and reconstructing the incident. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
