Vermont Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (Local News Wire) – The University of Vermont men’s lacrosse program is searching for a new head coach following Chris Feifs’ departure to the University of Virginia as an associate head coach and defensive coordinator. The announcement was confirmed on Wednesday night.

Feifs joined UVM in the summer of 2016 after helping North Carolina secure the NCAA title in the same year. During his tenure, he led the Cats to six America East Championship games and secured the program’s first America East title and NCAA Tournament bid in 2021.

Under Feifs, UVM won its inaugural NCAA Tournament game in 2022, marking a historic achievement for the program. He holds the record for the most wins in UVM men’s lacrosse history, totaling 78.

UVM Athletic Director Jeff Schulman expressed gratitude for Feifs’ leadership, stating the program achieved historic success under his guidance. Feifs acknowledged the contributions of his players, alumni, coaches, and the UVM administration, noting it was a privilege to be part of their lives.

The university has initiated a national search to find Feifs’ successor.
