ORANGE, Vt. —
A 55-year-old woman from Maine sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash on U.S. Route 302 on Thursday at approximately 3:40 p.m.
Samantha Casey of Wiscasset lost control of her Harley-Davidson while traveling west, according to the Vermont State Police. Investigators reported that she failed to navigate a curve, causing her to veer off the roadway. Weather conditions were dry at the time of the incident.
Casey was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin for treatment of her serious injuries. Authorities confirmed she was wearing a helmet during the crash.
The motorcycle was declared totaled, and no other vehicles were involved. The Vermont State Police are continuing the investigation into the incident.
