Motorcycle Crash in Vilas County Leaves One Dead, Another Injured
VILAS COUNTY — A Memorial Day crash near Eagle River resulted in one fatality and one injury on May 25 at approximately 7:08 p.m.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, 64-year-old Eric Raymond Powell was riding a 2000 Harley-Davidson FXDWG northbound on State Hwy. 155 when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound 2025 Toyota RAV4 driven by 39-year-old Eric Peterson Aldor. Powell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Aldor sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to Howard Young Medical Center in Minocqua. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a seat belt, and no alcohol use was noted in the report.
The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office and St. Germain Fire and Rescue provided assistance at the scene. The Wisconsin State Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
