Cleveland Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with SUV on I-71
CLEVELAND, OH — A motorcyclist was fatally injured in a crash involving an SUV on I-71 North at approximately 6:45 p.m. on October 15.
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, the collision occurred near the West 150th Street exit. The motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a 45-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
Emergency responders from the Cleveland Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, and traffic was diverted while authorities conducted an investigation. All northbound lanes were closed for approximately two hours as crews worked to clear the area and gather evidence.
As of 9:00 p.m., police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle and SUV collide at high speed. No charges have been filed as of yet, and authorities ask anyone with information to come forward.
The identity of the deceased will be released following notification of next of kin. Further updates on the investigation are expected.
