OHIO, N.Y. — A 21-year-old man from Wolcott was killed in a motorcycle crash on State Route 8 in Herkimer County on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. when the motorcyclist, traveling northbound, lost control while negotiating a curve, crossing into the southbound lane and colliding with a tractor-trailer.
Authorities reported that the motorcycle subsequently veered off the road and struck a tree. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene; his identity has not yet been released.
The tractor-trailer driver was not impaired, according to police. The New York State Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
