KEWEENAW COUNTY, Mich. — A 72-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on US-41 on July 31, according to the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m., approximately half a mile south of Washington Mine Road. Authorities reported that the man, who was driving a three-wheeled motorcycle, lost control, left the roadway, and collided with a tree, ejecting him from the vehicle.
Emergency medical services, including Mercy EMS, transported the driver to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The crash is currently under investigation, and no further information will be released until family notification is complete.
The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Copper Harbor Fire, Copper Harbor First Responders, Mercy EMS, and the Michigan State Police.
