SPRING PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – A fatal motorcycle crash at Highway 11 and CTH JS left one man dead and two others hospitalized on Saturday morning.
According to the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, emergency dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting the two-vehicle collision around 9:25 a.m.
Crews found a severely damaged three-wheeled motorcycle and an SUV overturned in the intersection. Two motorcycle riders were discovered unresponsive, prompting immediate medical aid.
The driver, identified as 73-year-old Mark Weis from Burlington, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two remaining victims were transported to local hospitals with significant injuries.
Authorities reported that neither motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit, which noted that the SUV had turned in front of the motorcycle.
