SARONA MAN INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH ON HIGHWAY 53
A 43-year-old Sarona man sustained life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle accident on Highway 53 in Washburn County on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the collision occurred at 3:29 p.m. while the motorcycle was southbound near Long Lake Avenue. The motorcyclist reportedly struck the left rear corner of another vehicle, causing him to lose control and come to rest in the median.
Emergency responders transported the injured man to Spooner Health Hospital before flying him to a Duluth hospital for further treatment. Authorities indicated that evidence at the scene suggested potential impairment by alcohol.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is currently investigating the incident, and enforcement action is pending.
Assisting at the scene were the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, Shell Lake Fire Department, and North Memorial Ambulance.
