STONELICK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A motorcycle accident on US-50 Thursday night resulted in the death of a 38-year-old woman, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 10:03 p.m. when Emily Koeppe, of Batavia, lost control of her Harley Davidson Forty-Eight motorcycle, which overturned and struck a guardrail after veering off the left side of the road.
Authorities reported that Koeppe sustained serious and life-threatening injuries. First responders transported her to a nearby landing zone for an airlift to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Despite medical intervention, Koeppe was pronounced dead at the landing zone before she could be flown out, troopers confirmed.
She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The highway patrol has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
