STURGIS, S.D. (Local News Wire) – A motorcycle crash on Monday led to the death of a Newcastle, Wyo., woman, identified as 60-year-old Heather Lynne Clifton.
The incident occurred on October 16, at approximately 2:41 p.m., as Clifton exited westbound Interstate 90 at exit 32 and collided with a car traveling north on Junction Avenue, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
Clifton sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital, where she died on October 18. The driver of the car, a Ford Taurus, was uninjured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, but no details on fault have been released as of yet.
Authorities have confirmed that no lanes were closed during the incident.
