Motorcyclist Killed in Asheville Crash

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A 20-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a car on Hendersonville Road on July 1.

At about 10:45 p.m., officers from the Asheville Police Department responded to a serious crash in the 1700 block of Hendersonville Road. Preliminary investigations indicate that several motorcycles were traveling north at a high speed when one motorcycle struck a car turning east onto Turtle Creek Drive.

The impact caused the motorcyclist, identified as Subastion James Samuel Cruz-Galyon, to be ejected. He was transported to Mission Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities will consult with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office upon its completion.
