BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A motorcyclist died following a collision with an SUV in Frazier Park on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 6:09 a.m. on Frazier Mountain Park Road, east of Mt. Pinos Way. A 65-year-old male motorcyclist was struck by a Chevrolet SUV driven by a 27-year-old male.
Authorities reported that the SUV collided with the motorcycle from behind, ejecting the rider onto the windshield of the SUV. The motorcyclist, identified as James Bradley Stearns of Frazier Park by the Kern County Coroner’s Office, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the SUV remained on-site and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. CHP stated that impairment is not suspected for him, while it remains unclear if impairment played a role in the motorcyclist’s actions.
