A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after running a red light and colliding with a car in Coral Springs on June 28.
The crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. outside the Shoppes at Heron Lakes on Coral Ridge Drive near Westview Drive. According to Coral Springs Police, the motorcyclist was heading north and failed to stop for a red light, crashing into a Lexus that had a green light and was exiting the intersection.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist in critical condition to North Broward Hospital. The collision prompted lane closures on Coral Ridge Drive from Westview Drive to NW 56th Drive for several hours.
Authorities indicated the investigation into the incident is ongoing. This crash follows a similar accident in Coral Springs ten days prior, which resulted in a fatality when a 34-year-old motorcyclist also ran a red light.
