OSAGE COUNTY, OK – A motorcycle-vehicle collision on U.S. 60 West on Tuesday resulted in one fatality and one injury.
The crash occurred when a box fell off a motorcycle driven by 44-year-old Jeremy Bearden from Ponca City. After pulling onto the shoulder to let another vehicle pass, Bearden attempted to re-enter traffic and was struck by an oncoming vehicle while making a U-turn.
Bearden died at the scene, while a passenger on the motorcycle sustained injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was unharmed.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and has not issued any citations at this time. The roadway may have experienced temporary lane closures during the emergency response.
