NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., LEHIGH CO. (WOLF) — A motorcycle crash involving a tractor-trailer resulted in the death of a Luzerne County man on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Tuesday afternoon.
The victim was identified as 39-year-old Kory A. Stokes of Foster Township, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities reported that the collision occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. near mile marker 63.1 on the northbound Turnpike.
Stokes was pronounced dead at 5:28 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. An autopsy confirmed he died from multiple traumatic injuries deemed accidental.
Officials noted that Stokes was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The Pennsylvania State Police Pocono Station is currently investigating the crash in collaboration with the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
