Motorcycle Crash Injures Willmar Woman on Business 71
(WILLMAR, MN) A motorcycle crash involving a vehicle occurred on Business 71 near 10th St NE at approximately 2:41 p.m. on [insert date].
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Madison Nicole McDowell, 26, of Willmar was traveling northbound on Business 71 when a Ford Edge SUV driven by Douglas John Hanson, 83, also of Willmar, failed to yield and turned left onto southbound Hwy 71, resulting in a collision.
McDowell was ejected from her motorcycle and landed in the southbound lanes, sustaining a traumatic injury to her right foot along with other unspecified injuries. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Emergency responders transported McDowell by ambulance to Rice Hospital before transferring her via Life Link to St. Cloud Hospital. Her current condition is unknown.
Hanson was uninjured and remained on the scene, cooperating with investigators. The Minnesota State Patrol, along with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Willmar Fire Department, and Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, assisted at the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
