BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – A motorcycle crash in Bedford County resulted in one fatality early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Route 501 near the intersection with Route 841. Authorities reported that 64-year-old Harald Dee Hiser, Jr. of Buena Vista was riding north on a Harley Davidson when he struck a deer, causing him to be thrown from the motorcycle.
Hiser was pronounced dead at the scene by Virginia State Police.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
