JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. — A 54-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 140 Saturday evening, according to Oregon State Police (OSP).
OSP responded at 7:05 p.m. on July 18, 2026, near milepost 6. The preliminary investigation indicated that a black Yamaha motorcycle, operated by Brian Jay Moore, was traveling westbound when it left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
Moore was declared dead at the scene. Authorities noted that witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling at high speeds prior to the crash.
The incident closed the highway for approximately three hours as investigators processed the scene. OSP received assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
