3 Killed, 3 Injured in Weekend Highway Accidents in Idaho
Idaho State Police (ISP) reported three fatalities and three injuries resulting from six serious accidents over the weekend, spanning from August 7 to August 10.
According to ISP, the first accident involved a 43-year-old motorcyclist from Seattle, Washington, who was found deceased off Highway 12 near mile marker 161. He had been reported missing on July 31. Evidence suggests the biker crashed while traveling east, veering off the roadway into nearby trees.
In a separate incident on Friday at 7:23 p.m., authorities reported a fatal crash on US95 near mile marker 198. A 74-year-old male from Riggins, Idaho, was driving a silver 2016 Hyundai Tucson when he lost control and entered the Salmon River. Bystanders attempted to assist but were unsuccessful; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Later that evening, around 7:54 p.m., another fatal crash occurred on US95 near mile marker 353, involving a 36-year-old male from Moscow, Idaho, driving a silver 2007 Kia Rio. He crossed left of center and collided head-on with a southbound 2014 Honda Accord driven by a 19-year-old female from Palouse, Washington. Both drivers were transported to a hospital, where the male driver later succumbed to his injuries.
