LEWES, Del. – A 48-year-old man from Harbeson died in a motorcycle crash on Coastal Highway on Sept. 1 at approximately 6:10 p.m.
According to Delaware State Police, the accident occurred when a Kia Sorento, driven by a 77-year-old woman from New Berlin, Pennsylvania, made a U-turn and struck a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling southbound. The collision ejected the motorcyclist, who was transported to an area hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. His identity, Paul Lawson, will be released pending family notification.
The driver of the Kia and two passengers were uninjured. The accident led to lane closures on Coastal Highway for about three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
