MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) – A motorcyclist died in a crash on N. Main Street on Friday, September 22, 2023, around 3:50 p.m.
According to police, the incident occurred in the 34,000 block of N. Main Street, just north of Catalpa Drive, near the Regency Apartments.
Authorities reported the motorcyclist was traveling north in the left lane when a southbound SUV turned left into the 7-Eleven parking lot, colliding with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, a resident of Mishawaka, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police indicated that witnesses stated the motorcyclist was “driving fast” prior to the collision.
No additional injuries were reported. Authorities have not provided details on potential lane closures or towing services involved in the aftermath of the incident.
