CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A motorcycle crash in Buchanan County on June 12 resulted in injuries to the rider.
According to authorities, Christopher Keidel, 17, of Epworth, was riding westbound on Highway 20 when he lost control of his 2024 Harley-Davidson. The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. near the 256 mile marker, approximately east of Independence.
The motorcycle crossed the median and overturned, ejecting Keidel into the eastbound lanes of the highway. He was transported to Buchanan County Health Center in Independence with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities cited Keidel for Failure to Maintain Control of Motor Vehicle. Traffic lanes were briefly closed during the investigation and cleanup.
