SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Parents of teens killed in crash incidents in Utah gathered Monday at the Marmalade Branch Library to advocate for teen driver safety.
Rob Wilson, father of Anneka Wilson, and Tiffany and Jared Dixon, parents of Branson Davis, shared their personal stories during the event.
Anneka Wilson and her boyfriend, Leo, were killed in a head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver on I-15 on Nov. 29, 2025. The driver, identified as Jose Jimenez, was arrested for driving under the influence.
Branson Davis, a 17-year-old senior at Riverton High School, died in a motorcycle crash. “We thought we had a lifetime of memories with Branson. Instead, we’re learning to live with an empty space in our family,” Tiffany Dixon stated.
Authorities reported that 30 teenagers lost their lives on Utah roads in 2025, as confirmed by the Utah Department of Transportation, the Department of Public Safety, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
The event was part of National Teen Driver Safety Week, which ran from Oct. 18-24, and focused on promoting safe driving practices through education and parental involvement.
The agencies produce an annual Teen Memoriam booklet to honor the deceased and encourage road safety awareness in local high schools.
