AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. – A Prattville Police Corporal, Dakota Davis, was killed in a motorcycle crash, leaving his wife and family in mourning.
The incident occurred on October 30 at approximately 2:41 p.m. while Davis, 25, was riding his motorcycle, according to authorities.
Davis was an avid motorcyclist, a passion he has pursued since childhood, according to family members. His wife, Chloe Greiner-Davis, described the accident as a freak occurrence with no one to blame.
“You could be the best driver on this planet, but other people just don’t know how to drive,” Greiner-Davis said.
Davis was remembered as a dedicated family man and a committed police officer. His father, Paul Davis, noted that his son was a man of few words but loved deeply.
“He is loved, and he is missed,” Paul Davis said, preparing for a funeral on Halloween, his son’s favorite holiday.
Greiner-Davis, navigating mortgage and moving expenses alone, is also pursuing her master’s in elementary education.
The community has rallied in support, raising thousands of dollars through a GoFundMe campaign.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
