Blue Route motorcycle accident victim identified as rider.

RADNOR, PA – A 53-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday evening in a crash on Interstate 476, also known as the Blue Route.

The collision occurred at approximately 6:35 p.m. near mile marker 10.7 north. According to the Delaware County Medical Examiner, Christopher Caserta of Spring City died from blunt impact trauma at the scene.

Emergency personnel attempted lifesaving measures but were unable to revive Caserta. Witnesses reported that he was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic prior to the accident.

Authorities said Caserta lost control of his motorcycle while changing from the center lane to the left lane, causing it to skid and subsequently come to rest in the left lane after striking a guide rail. The motorcycle slid an estimated 150 feet before leaving the roadway.

Investigators have not confirmed whether Caserta was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No additional information regarding potential injuries to other drivers or lane closures has been released.
