HONOLULU (Local News Wire) – Alyssa Couchie, 47, a state deputy attorney general, was injured in a motorcycle crash on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when an SUV struck Couchie while she was riding on the Leeward Coast. She sustained multiple broken bones, including fractured vertebrae, ribs, and a dislocated hip.
According to police, the driver of the SUV is a minor under the age of 18, who has been arrested for a traffic-related offense. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details about the driver have been released.
Couchie was transported to Kaiser Medical Center in Moanalua, where she is currently hospitalized with extensive injuries. Friends have expressed concern over videos of the crash circulating online.
