A 41-year-old woman from California was killed in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 15 near the Arizona-Nevada border early July 16, according to Nevada State Police.
At approximately 2:40 a.m., Rebecca Lynn Taylor was riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound when a 2020 Hyundai Sonata struck her from behind. The impact caused Taylor to be ejected from her motorcycle, which subsequently veered off the roadway and came to rest in the dirt median.
Emergency responders transported Taylor to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Hyundai driver was unharmed and remained at the scene, cooperating with the investigation.
Authorities reported that this incident is part of a troubling trend in 2024, with troopers having investigated 43 fatal crashes resulting in 51 deaths this year.
