Colorado Springs Police Investigate Two Fatal Motorcycle Crashes.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Two separate motorcycle crashes over the weekend resulted in the deaths of both riders, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

The first incident occurred Saturday at approximately 1:00 a.m. near North Circle Drive and East Van Buren Street. Emergency responders found the deceased motorcycle rider at the scene. The CSPD Major Crash Team is investigating, with preliminary findings indicating that speed may have been a factor.

The second crash took place Sunday around 12:20 a.m. at South Nevada Avenue, where a motorcycle collided with a car. Authorities confirmed the motorcycle rider died, while the motorcycle passenger and three occupants of the car were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Their current status is unknown. Investigators believe the motorcycle was traveling southbound at high speeds when it struck the car attempting a left turn.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), motorcycle fatalities have surged by 90% over the past 15 years, with 2026 projected to be one of the deadliest starts for motorcyclists since 2017. With the summer approaching, CDOT warns that this is the beginning of the “100 Deadliest Days” for drivers and riders in Colorado.
