Medford driver charged with striking motorcycle, resulting in deaths of two Central Point riders.

A Medford woman faces manslaughter charges following a motorcycle crash that killed two Central Point residents on Monday night, according to Oregon State Police.

The incident occurred at 9:38 p.m. on May 11, on Highway 62 near milepost 3. A westbound Dodge Ram pickup, driven by 35-year-old Kristin Michelle Cowan, collided with a westbound Kawasaki Eliminator motorcycle operated by 56-year-old John Daren Stribling.

Stribling and his passenger, 44-year-old Bobbie Lynn Stribling-King, were pronounced dead at the scene. Cowan was reportedly unharmed.

Authorities stated that impairment is considered a primary factor in the collision, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Cowan has been charged with DUII, reckless driving, and manslaughter and is currently held at the Jackson County Jail.

The highway was closed for approximately seven hours as law enforcement conducted their investigation. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office assisted OSP at the scene.
